Set max scale for a< layer>

The flex API allows us to set a maxScale for a layer. Their is not a complimentary property in the layer configuration tag. Is it possible to do this in the Flex Viewer? If not, should it be added?

I would like to see ESRI services such as world imagery but when their imagery is no longer available (below 1:3000 in my case), I would like to see my own imagery from an imagery service. As it is now, my imagery shows up at all scales. I would like to limit it to 1:3000 and below.

You should be able to set min and max scale in layer tag of the config at Flex viewer 3.0
