Configuring to IIS

Hello

Please help me how to configure viewer application to IIS as I am on working on my laptop and don't have ARCGIS server. My main concern is while accessing the operational layers which I am going to use my own because this is directly pointing to ArcGIS Server or ArcGIS online.

Hello Scheitlin,

I did go through the steps and I configured it. But my unknowns are how we see such beautiful maps on the applications, I understand the basemap concept and I do understand the operational layers concept.

Correct me if I am wrong operational layers are the layers that the user would like to display the maps.

What I don't undersand is I have a set of shape files I would like to render (if this is the correct word) on top of the base maps. How do I go about it. I do not have access for ArcGIS Server.

Yes Operational Layers are layers that you want to overlay on the basemaps.

If you want to add shapefiles to the viewer server side than you will have to publish them as Map Service(s) to ArcGIS Server. If you want to add them client side then you use this widget:
