"Run Index" (debug) fails from Flash Builder/Firefox

Sometime recently, I cannot seem to debug in Firefox. I'm thinking that maybe my version of Flash Player might be off or something. Which version should I be using? I have version 10 of the Active X and Plugin installed.

Thanks, Robert. For the record, I fixed the issue I was having (temporarily, at least) by changing the Framework linkage (Properties->Flex Build Path->Library Path) from "Use SDK Default" to "Merged into code". I'm not sure if that's ideal or not, as it makes the swf bigger, but that's the only way I can get it to debug now.

Hi Robert

I have tried to install Flash Builder 4.7. on windows 8.1 and im not able to debug the application. I have tried many different version of flash player but no use. Sorry to ask 2 question in a row but im kinda stuck in this from last one month . I have been developing my app on a temp system of windows xp . debugger works fine with it but it shows error "source not found" when ever i try to debug a line which refer a class of arcgis api

Please help me in this

Saurabh,

That is not an error, it is an information message that you are going to get past. The ArcGIS Flex API is NOT open source as the whole adobe flex API is and thus you will not have access to the source code of the ArcGIS Flex API.

Saurabh,

You can place break points and debug an application built using the ArcGIS Flex API. But you will not be able to see the source of individual ArcGIS Flex API components like you can say for the Adobe Flex DataGrid. I do not do any development using a Windows 8.1 machine. My Development laptop is Windows 7. So what kind of problem are you having with debugging on Windows 8.1? Just saying that it does not work is not going to allow me to help you.

Ok. About 8.1 problem when I am importing flexviewer 3.6 app into flash builder 4.7 is says that this project is build in earlier version and do i want to change it to new version and what SDK i want to use for the same. After doing all this when i am running the application . it runs fine but when im trying to debug it is shows error of flash player version and ask me to either download a flash player version or re install Flash Builder. I have shown the error below,

I have tried to install new version of windows debugger and changed in option to set to its version of flash player but still same result.

Please guide me on this issue as i cant use windows xp any more and my development is kinda at hault.

Can you try to set your default web browser to Firefox and then try again?

I have done that also and the error just changed a bit instead of chrome error it showed me firefox one

Have you seen theses note on the Flash Player download page about Windows 8?

Note: Release builds of Flash Player for Windows 8 are a part of the Windows 8 update

Uninstalling the Windows 8/8.1 ActiveX debuger: please note the KB number in the installer filename after downloading the installer file. To uninstall the debugger, go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Installed Updates. Look for the entry with the KB number the same as in the installer file and uninstall that update.

Also are which version are you downloading for the Adobe Flash Player download site?

Download the Flash Player for Windows 8.1 x64 debugger

Can you help me finding right approach to some of the problems. I have been stuck with these from a long time ..

First is :

problem with adding dynamic featurelayer

Second is:

I have to do some task and I am not able to find how to proceed with it. Can u help me in this?

Task
1) A person with admin login logs into web application and then then edit a layer or 2

2) Those edited layer have to saved and has to be shared for editing with some of people having different role .

3) Then they also submit the layer with changes and sends a notification to Admin about submitting of task

4) Admin people log into system and see the changes and save the final edited layer to main database.

Just wanted to know how we can proceed with this kinda task
