James, I am not sure what is going on with the crossdomain.xml then, because it is not coming thru using the URL as in my previous post. It is strange the your server is automatically locking your services... I have not seen that before. I would contact tech support on that.Robert

information:
Using ArcGIS 10.2.1 (Desktop and Server)
Application builder 3.6
cross domain on Server and web server

I just set up 10.2.1 and am creating my first map app in the new environment above. I have many services running and none of them have security. THis is the first time I am being prompted to sign into the services (see attached jpeg) and the cross domain can not be found, but the crossdomain is there as it has always been.

any one have suggestions, comments, ideas?

James Armstrong

James, I do not get a crossdomain.xml when I go to http://gis2.richmondnc.com/crossdomain.xml. I would check your ArcGIS Server Manager to see if any of your services have the closed padlock next to them. I have seen services get secured by ArcGIS Server without you telling them to do so.Robert

with the exception of 2 service all are opened (padlock unlocked). All services are in the root folder within Manger. The two that are closed (locked) are in a folder under the root. Crossdomain is on the ArcServer (and the web server) under the www (root) file.

I always have to unlock newly created services as it defaults to the locked status during the publishing process.

James, As long as the crossdomain.xml is in the root of the web server than normally it will get it just fine form there and the web adaptor will not be a factor. I normally use fiddler of Crome developer tools to watch the http traffic and see what request is failing with a 400 error.Robert
