Hello,

We are in the process of trying to apply a UN asset package we received from a customer and during the process we received this error.

ERROR 999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail.

Invalid relationship class specification.
The operation was attempted on an empty geometry.

I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on what would cause this problem and how we can move past it.

Thanks in advance.

That error is typically useless, but you may want to see what relationship classes are actually being used. You might want to ask the customer who provided the asset package to you.

Hi Michael,

I'm wondering if the Apply Asset Package Tool is failing due to a feature with bad geometry.

You could try to run the Repair Geometry Tool (https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/repair-geometry.htm) against the asset package and see if the tool finds and repair an invalid record. If does, then you could try to apply the asset package again.

Do you get the same error message when trying to apply the Asset Package without loading the data (i.e. schema only)?
