Asset Package - Change Asset Type Domain for a Specific Subtype

Hi,

by using tables D_Rename & D_Configurations existing values can be renamed or added - removed from the UN when deployed.

It seems though that these tables do not cover the case when needed to change Asset Type Domain, so as to associate the Asset Type with another Domain different from the existing.

What is the proper process for this case?

That is correct, you cannot change the domain with these tables. For that, you will just change the domain assignment in the subtypes view in of that class in the asset package.

Thank you Mike,

but in that case UN tables are not automatically updated with the change (e.g. B_EdgeConnectivity table) and errors appear when running the "Asset Package to Geodatabase" tool, because of the manual change and following incosistencies. This is why I posted the question here, I assumed that there is another way that updates all UN tables with the change, like it happens with D_Rename & D_Configurations tables.

There is no easy way to re-assigned an entire Asset Type domain.

You shouldn't need to change the domain on the asset type field. You should just add the values you want, and D_Configure/D_Rename the rest.

If you unassign the domain and replace it with a new one, you are deleting all those asset types and will need to manually remove them from all the A, B, and C tables. Which is something best avoided and handled using what I described in the first paragraph.

..and the follow up question is how to rename Domain Network_5_Unknown AssetType value "Unknown", which is not listed in D_Rename table.

You can't or should not rename the Unknown Asset Groups Unknown Asset Type
