Where to add attribute rules in the asset package or UN database

Good afternoon,

When we change something related to the schema of a Utility Network (UN), we first make the change in the asset package and then export the asset package as a file geodatabase (FGDB) or an enterprise geodatabase to an UN.

Do we follow the same steps for attribute rules? Are they created first in the asset package? And then the asset package exported to a UN.

If you are still performing data migrations, store your attribute rules in the asset package to ensure they are consistently applied every time you deploy your utility network. However, authoring attribute rules in an asset package is tedious, so most people author and test their rules in a geodatabase, then export them into an asset package.

We are still in the process of migrating data. Your recommendation to add attribute rules to the geodatabase and then export them as part of an asset package is excellent.

Do you have any advice on how to migrate Attribute Assistant records from the DynamicValue table to ArcGIS Pro?

You can use templated attribute rules to give you a head start.
