Loss of conectivity when migrating asset package.

Hello, I'm having a problem of connectivity when i migrate my asset package to the utility network. I've started creating my network with the "Water Distribution Data Management" solution, then I load the data into the asset package from the "Water Distribution Utility Network Foundation" Solution and after that I migrate the asset pacakage to a utility network. Everything seems to be fine but when I try to use the trace function there is no connectivity with some features. I've already check with the Data Reviewer but there are no errors, so there should be connectivity. Something important to mention is that the disconnected features were created with a group template, I don't know if that's the problem.Thank you for your time. 🙂

Can you explain what you mean by lost connectivity? Were these features previously connected/traceable in another system or did you generate them programmatically?

Looking at the screenshot you've attached it appears that either the tees/taps of your laterals aren't snapped to the mains, or there isn't a common vertex on the main for the tees/taps to connect to.

For sure, Robert. When I created the network I used the snapping tool to ensure the tees were connected, I even used a topology to confirm it, as you can see in the first screenshot. But when I migrated my data to the Utility Utility network some tees lost connectivity (but only with the mains), as you can see in the second screenshot. Besides that, when I use the connected trace function none of the laterals have connection to the mains, as in the screenshot of the original post.

@AaronCrisanto for the tees that aren't connected to main, is there a vertex on the main at the same location as the tee? or is the tee just snapped to the edge without a vertex?

@RobertKrisher no, there is no vertex at the same location as the tee but I set a rule to allow that type of connection. Something interesting is that when I move the tee to any other part of the main and use the connected trace function the lateral has connectivity.

@AaronCrisanto ah, that's your problem. To connect there needs to be a vertex on the main that is co-located with the device/junction. This is something that we do automatically when you edit the utility network, but if you are creating your taps/laterals during conversion on simple features than you won't see that vertex.

I recommend you add a pre-processing step in your asset package that will create these vertices. Depending on how you're migrating your data you may be able to either use a transformer in FME/Data Interop, or use the Integrate/Pairwise Integrate gp tool in ArcGIS Pro.
