topic The condition barrier does not consider the category value in ArcGIS Utility Network Questions

I am preparing a UN data model for the electricity sector, there are 3 Radial Tier in my model.
I use category (device status) for switching status (open-close) I expect the circuit to stop for devices with open switching position for subnetwork update in Tier transitions. I use the too same device status category for 3 tiers.
I configured condition barrier for all tiers. (Device Status is equal to specific value Open) Although the subnetwork ends in devices with device status open for 2 tiers, the subnetwork continues in a 1 tier.

I have experienced such a situation before, if you have any problems with this issue, I would be happy if you could share your experiences. I cannot make some interventions because there are restrictions such as deleting tiers or changing attributes assigment.

Thanks in advance to those who have suggestions.

P.S

Green line is Tier rank 1

Red Line is Tier rank 3

Hard to tell what is going on without a sample dataset, but my guess is that the lines at the open device are connected to the same terminal. So opening/closing the switch does not affect the flow.

Hi @MikeMillerGIS

Can you give reference the technical documentation that says open devices connected to the same terminal will not affect the flow? I prepared a model in which the switchings are open-close via a single terminal. So I edited the data without terminal configuration (from device or to device terminal = none).

After your message I introduced the terminal configuration to my model and edited the data accordingly.
The result has not changed, the circuit does not ending in open switching.

For a single terminal device, the network attribute will stop traversability(not in a connected trace). If the device has more than one terminal, the network attribute will stop traversability between terminals, but not on the objects connected on the same terminal. I could not locate any doc that provides that info.
