Subtype Group Layers - Symbol Layer Drawing?

Is it possible to modify the drawing order of an asset group's selected asset types within the Subtype Group Layer?

I'd like to have asset types drawn in a specific order on the map, yet this functionality does not seem to be present within the symbology. Modifying the symbols in the Primary Symbology window only reorders the layers in the TOC and not the map. For example, In Service still draws on top of Proposed even though the symbol is below.

If the same layer is not a part of Subtype Group Layer the ability to use Symbol Layer Drawing is present allowing for the reordering of drawing order.

@RobertKrisher I am working with a user who has requested the same functionality. Would an Enhancement be a good option to request this functionality?
