Adding new fields hangs

I'm trying to add a field to an existing survey through Connect. The survey has repeats but this question is on the main feature layer outside of the repeats and does not depend or have dependent questions in any of the tables. The question is select_multiple from choice list within the xls form. When I go to publish, I toggle on the add field, but the publishing just hangs. There are no joins.

First thought was to just add a new field in the existing feature service in Online and then add the question in the xls form after. However, I don't even have the option to add a new field to the existing hosted layer.

I've looked through https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/faq-what-are-the-reasons-fields-cannot-be-added-to-a-ho-000022377 and other posts here but I don't think that any of these conditions are related to either of my issues.

Even without joins or dependent views, ArcGIS Online completely locks down a layer's structure if it thinks a device is actively using it offline.

Try Turning off 'Offline' mode (Sync) and then add field in ArcGIS Online

Publish in Survey 123 Connect and turn sync back on

Unfortunately, this is does not improve the situation. I did have sync on. Turned it off. Still cannot add field through AGOL and it still hangs when trying to add field through Connect.

Hey @AmyAlford1,

Would you be able to capture a diagnostic log while attempting to republish from Connect? Additionally would you be able to check and make sure your ArcGIS Online organization has credits.

I found the solution. I had created a joined view between the point layer and a table within the feature service. Then I deleted it. It was still sitting in my recycle bin.
