Incomplete survey responses

Hi all,

Is there any way to store the data from incomplete survey responses? I will be setting up a rather long survey (+-15 to 30min), and don't want to lose the data from people that didn't make it all the way to the submit button. I didn't find anything online regarding this topic.

Hello @JorenSansen,

Do you plan on your survey respondents using the Survey123 field app or the Survey123 web app?

If you are planning on using the Survey123 field app surveyors are able to save in progress surveys to the Drafts folder to be reopened at a later time to complete.

If you are planning on using the Survey123 web app you can enable Draft mode in the Survey123 website which will save the user's answers in the web app locally in their browser as they complete the survey.

If you're concerned that users will get tired and not bother to finish the survey you may need to shorten it by removing questions or changing the question type e.g. choices over text.

If users don't submit the survey, you won't get any data.

They can store drafts to submit later as Zach described but they need to come back and submit.
