Survey123 crashes after taking image on Android.

Survey123 v3.18 crashes after taking an image on an Android phone. Happening on a pixel 4a and Galaxy 9 phones. The Survey123 was published with 3.11, so updated the form to 3.18 and republished. Still crashes when taking an image. It started at the same time as the latest update to 3.18. The app version on the Android is 3.18.142. Works fine on an iPhone. Not sure if it's a bug or something else going on.

Any ideas?

Hello @DanielLoegelCMS,

Would you be able to pass along a diagnostic log when the crash occurs? Are both your Pixel 4a and Galaxy S9 on the same version of Android or different versions?

It would also be helpful to obtain an ADB log from the device to see the OS logs as well. Please feel free to reach out to Esri Technical Support for assistance obtaining this log.

We are able to reproduce the issue on a couple of our devices as well and are currently investigating the issue. The ADB log would be helpful to verify you're seeing the same issue we are. Please feel free to reach out to Tech Support to obtain the ADB log and log an official BUG for the issue.

This issue has been logged as BUG-000159580. We have identified a fix for the issue and should have more information on when the fix will be released in the next day.

Is there an update on this fix? all was working well for me and I was able to use survey123 to conduct my inspections on June 29. the app auto-updated on June 30.

I made some adjustments to my form to improve functionality, and now it crashes when I try to take a photo. And I need that feature to save me time and labor with writing my inspection reports

I'm using it on a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro (SM-T540) running Android 11

We plan to release a hotfix this week to address this issue. We already have the fix available for testing in our Early Adopter Community, please let us know if you continue to experience any issues on the EAC version and after the release.

I'm experiencing the same problem when taking photos's using survey123. The application basically restarts. The device in question is the Lenovo TAB M8 (Android). Do you know when this bug will be resolved without having to use Early Adopter?

This specific issue was fixed for us shortly after it was identified.

Suggest updating to the latest version of Survey123. Log a new support case
or post.
