I cannot click on a point in Fieldmaps after creating it in Survey123

Hi all

I am experimenting with Survey123 and creating some points on a web map. When I load this web map into Fieldmap with the survey123 points created for some reason I cannot click on any of them, which is a vital part of the survey123 process. I have had a look through the setting and I cannot figure out why I wouldnt be able to click on the points to view their attributes

Anyone has any advice or help it would be greatly appreciated!

Are pop-ups enabled for this specific layer? It is a setting in the web map.

Is it in Field Maps or Survey123 you are trying to open the pop-ups?

Yes I have, I have duplicated the form, re-published etc. Nothing seems to allow me to press the points

So the pop-up work in Map Viewer but not anymore when you open the map in Field Maps? I cannot figure out what could be the case for that behavior, sorry.

Can you:

Share the XLSForm and more info on how the survey was published e.g. Connect version. This will help identify issues with your layer.
confirm the versions of Survey123 Connect, Survey123 field app and ArcGIS Field Maps?
Clarify if the behaviour occurs on multiple devices and platforms e.g. android, iOS
Add the Hosted Feature Layer to a new map. Enable pop-ups. Confirm it works in map viewer. Save the map, and see if the issue occurs in Field Maps.
If it does, capture logs in Field Maps, take screenshots/videos, and make sure you have a ticket with Esri support. They'll be able to work with you and take a direct look at your map (vs us, the public)

People have had this issue in the past and it's been tied to bugs (now fixed) or incompatibility. The latter there isn't much of anymore and was generally tied to map viewer classic vs new, or collector / field maps.
Hard to see issues if you are using a recent version of Survey123 and Field Maps, not doing any cutting-edge html/Arcade expressions, and don't have invalid design (e.g. reserved words or bad geometry).

Did you work out a solution to this problem after escalating to tech support? I am experiencing the same thing and for the life of me I cannot figure out why no pop up or form will appear in FieldMaps for features created using Survey123.

I've never run into this bug before, but I have run into this problem as well, starting today.

Using a newly created feature service generated by survey 123 and attempting to also use its point layer in field maps. Pop-ups for the layer work in map viewer, but cannot get them to activate on the latest version of Android Field Maps.

Bummer to find this thread, heh. Would have been more convenient to realize it was some dumb mistake I was making, but this seems like a Survey123 thing.

Okay - so I actually was able to fix this.. but I'm still pretty sure it qualifies as a bug.

Survey123 Connect does not include explicit settings for feature service capabilities - add, update, delete. Instead, it includes toggles like "Users can edit surveys in Inbox".

I was able to get pop-ups working in Field Maps by navigating to the feature service generated by my survey, and enabling "Update" in the editor settings.

I still think that's a bug. You should be able to view a pop up without being able to update a feature. And I wonder if my settings will be overwritten by Survey123, what would happen if I toggled back and forth.. etc.

But as a workaround, give that a try.

I eventually figured this out on my end as well. This seems to the solution. Would be nice if these settings could be configured in Connect at the time of publishing a survey.
