Can you add choices to a select_one question without republishing when there is no schema change?

We have personnel changes occasionally in which an "other" option isn't viable. Can we use pulldata() from a .csv to provide choices? There is no schema change and I don't need to pre-populate the Survey for other reasons. In my organization, republishing with even small changes is a major hassle with significant overhead costs associated with it and technical problems as well. I don't need to make calculations based on the choices. So far questions asked in the forum by others regarding pulldata() don't fit the scenario exactly, at least what I could find. I chimed in on one of them nevertheless, without response. Any help would be very appreciated!

Thanks! Looks like you have to have a cascading select to utilize the external choices described in the blog. I don't have cascading selects, but I'm going to try restructuring my survey to use them and give this a shot.
