Survey 123 iOS 13 Attachment Bug

We just tested Survey123 on iOS 13 and we have a bug that will cause some issues with iOS upgrades. We put iOS 13 on an Ipad Air 2 and we have an issue.

When you take a survey and you add an attachment by selecting the folder option (as a way to add attachment at the bottom), the app crashes. Is seems to happen almost 80% of the time. This will be a big deal for us as we have built an app on top of this Survey123 code. Most of our users add attachments to the survey using the folder options.

Has anyone seen this behavior, and will 3.6 Beta template address the problem. If it will, how soon before the 3.6 code template will be put into App Studio in order for us to upgrade out code built on it.

It is currently set to ENABLED.

Thanks for the feedback. I had asked about iCloud syncing because we have seen difference in performance when it is enabled/disabled. That being said, the AppStudio team has reproduced the crash as described in a sample application. It would be helpful for external tracking if you could file a bug with Esri Support.

We will file a ticket with support. It would be great that when they discover the fix that they publish the change to the Survey123 template or post the change/patch to this or some other help site so that we can quickly fix the issue and get our product out to the users. The iOS update is happening soon (within a week or two), and this will drastically affect our users. Any help on this would be great.

Hi Lindsay,

This conversation was continued in another thread - Survey123 Attachment Crash iOS 13 . This issue was resolved with a Hotfix to AppStudio and subsequent build of Survey123 (3.6.153 or later have the fix). More information on this issue is available at Hotfix to AppStudio for ArcGIS 4.0
