To improve post-survey analysis, it would be useful to be able to allocate a score or value to a response, thereby quantifying a qualitative response. This can be done using integer responses, but it would be good to be able to do this 'behind the scenes' so that the respondent can concentrate on the statements rather than the numbers

e.g.

0 = Lowest possible opinion

5 = Moderate opinion
10 = Highest possible opinion

#score #quantitative #qualitative

Hello Geo,

This can currently be done in Survey123 Connect for ArcGIS using a "select_one" question type and setting your choices to contain the quantitative value for the "name" (ex. 1-10) and the qualitative value for the for the "label" (ex. Extremely likely, somewhat likely... etc.). This question type defaults to text, so if you'd like this scale to be recorded as an integer the bind::esri:fieldType can be set to esriFieldTypeInteger.

To clarify, are you requesting this kind of control in Survey123 Web (https://survey123.arcgis.com)? If so, I would recommend looking into Survey123 Connect as a way to extend your surveys. XLS Forms offer a lot of customization, and allow you to develop more intricate surveys.

Thanks,

Scott
