topic hot spot map in ArcGIS StreetMap Premium Questions

I'm doing a hot spot density map using the kernal option. It turns out well but it seems to make a big square in the middle that cuts off some of the hot spots on the edge of the square. So it looks a little odd. Is there some setting that I'm missing?

I would like to help you figure out what the problem is. Certainly a big square in the middle of your map does not sound normal or helpful! Perhaps you can send me an email at pdoherty@esri.com and we can discuss a data exchange so I can take a look. Then perhaps we can post a solution for others to read.

Kernel density can be a very helpful visualization tool for quickly making a more meaningful picture of your â??dots on the mapâ?�. However, to really analyze the data you may want to take a look at some other tools already available at your disposal, such as Hot Spot Analysis. For supporting decision making inthe Public Safety Community this is a best practice.

Thanks for your help, Paul! It turned out to be an environment setting issue. I simply changed the setting to include the extent of the biggest layer I was using. Worked great.:)
