Embedded map layers not updating on story maps

Hello,

I am using ArcGIS online to create simple maps and story maps. When I update my monthly routine data maps, the visible layer turns off in the embedded version on the story maps. Is there a way to fix this without manually turning the layer on every month on each of the story maps?

@WVWaterResearchInstitute -- Sure. If you update the data in the same layer, you won't need to adjust anything in the story. So just create a new layer for your story that always contains the current data and update that layer each month.

It sounds like you are probably replacing the old layer with a new layer. In that case, newly added layers do not automatically appear as visible in the story and must be manually toggled on.
