Setting an initial map extent when a map tour is loaded. Currently when you have 1 point on a map tour the extent is set to the global level which is not ideal. It would be helpful to be able to set the extent with the story map, or to inherit the extent a web map is saved at.

I have been trying to figure out why my tour with one point won't start at the level the map is set to. Thank you! And yes, this behavior makes absolutely no sense, why doesn't it respect the map zoom or the one point.

It would be great if you could please share the reason why you are building a tour with one one point so we can understand your use case.

We use map tours to show local development in 3 stages - submitted, approved, and completed. The one point is the welcome point if there are no newly submitted applications. This works great in old Storymaps, it shows the point at the extent expected in our City instead of showing the entire world.

@OwenGeo We use map tours to show office locations. There is an experience builder app which contains several different tabs for the different types of offices, eg. Local Office, Grants Office, and Regional Offices.

Each tab is linked to an unique map tour for each office type. However one of the tabs is headquarters and in the tab there is only one office, but I would still like to show its location in relation to the region and not have it zoomed to a global extent. Thanks for looking at this.

We recommend using a sidecar (in floating panel or slideshow layout) with an express map in the media panel as a workaround for anyone currently using a tour with only one location.
