We are looking into providing an easy way to start your own custom theme using one of the standard themes.

For now, all the specs of the standard themes are documented at the link below, so you can recreate them in a few minutes in theme builder and then include whatever changes you like.

The ability to start a new theme with one of the standard themes was added in July 2024. For more info, see What's new in ArcGIS StoryMaps (July 2024).
