Cost Path Analysis for a submarine cable route - help?

Hi everyone, I am having problems using the cost path analysis tool and I hope someone here can help.

For my dissertation I am trying to find the optimum route for a submarine cable from an offshore wind farm to land, using the cost path tool, taking into account slope and avoiding shipwrecks. I created a model based on the tutorial (http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/pdf/spatial-analyst-tutorial.pdf). I have followed the steps and can achieve a cost surface, cost distance raster, cost backlink raster and a least cost path fully when just using the slope data. However, when I try and include the wreck point data in the Weighted Overlay tool it runs but creates an empty backlink raster and distance raster, and this error appears: "ERROR 010045: COSTPATH: The number of FROM cells is 0. ERROR 010067: Error in executing grid expression. Failed to execute (Cost Path)."

I was wondering if anyone knew what I am doing wrong, and how to make it work?

Thanks very much,
Andy

Most probably your start point is located in the NODATA area, that is why you got the error.
Display your Weighted overlay layer, move the start point to somewhere there are values.
