Question on about raster classification.

I have a raster data set displaying elevation. I'm trying to create a Boolean raster in which the cells meeting the elevation criteria have a value of 1 and the rest have a value of 0. The reclassify tool is used to convert one set of raster values to another. When i input my current elevation raster with four old values 954.714134-1200, 1200-1600, 1600-2000 and no data(0), the tool runs just fine.

But i was wondering how the values are not 954.714134-1200, 1201-1600, 1601-2000 etc. ? How can ArcGIS spatial analyst still read this while incrementing the lead value by 1 and not having the previous number in the beginning of the range value ?

The way the Reclassify tool's range lookup rules are implemented (really with < and >= breaks) is described in this help article.

The input ranges of values should not overlap except at the boundary of two input ranges. When overlapping occurs, the higher end of the lower input range is inclusive, and the lower end of the higher input range is exclusive.
