topic Inputting point data onto outcrop photos and creating a kriging surface in ArcGIS Spatial Analyst Questions

Hi,

Just wondering if someone could help me out with an issue. I have a load of plug/(point) data (permeability and porosity) which was taken across a measured grid framework (metre by metre) from outcrops. I thought the best way to present the data, would be to create kriging surfaces across outcrop photos from which the plugs were taken. While I have kriged many sets of point data on maps, I am unsure about how to position the points accurately on the photos in the grid framework and then krig using the Spatial Analyst.

Best
C

If you have point data on a grid (1m x 1m), why not use PointToRaster with an output cell size of 1m?

If you do kriging, do you want to go finer than 1m? and are you interested in the standard error of prediction surfaces?

Regards
Steve
