Maybe you should just download the newer datasets. Techniques to create smoother contours are described in this page as well (e.g. using Focal Statistics to smooth the input ratser).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;If you have a Desktop Standard license, you can also use the Smooth Line tool. And there is a &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/na/01m800000031000000/"&gt;Smooth&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; command in the Advanced Editing toolbar to smooth lines in an edit session.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hi, Ive obtained some free data DEM from the USGS, namely the ASTGDEMv2 and im trying to use the rasters to produce some contours but they are squareish.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Ive tried to project the rasters and change the re-sampling technique to bilinear, as well as use the raster contouring tool in the 3D extension.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Im out of ideas.&amp;nbsp; Any tip on how to make the contours curved?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks in advance.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
