Error in Optimal Path as Line from Distance Accumulation with Vertical Movement Costs

I get this error (#010423) when I try and the optimal path function following the distance accumulation function with the optional cost associated with vertical movement. I do not get the error when running without the optional cost with vertical movement and am confused as to how the vertical movement costs are creating the error. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

did you try calculating statistics?

The statistics that it calculates approach +/- infinity.

Upon further inspection, it would appear that when calculating the distance accumulation raster and the back direction raster when there is cost associated with vertical movement, both are empty. Any ideas as to why this may be?
