Joel- Thank you so much for the reply. Wasn't aware that the version updates would impact like that. I am using version 1.2 so there could lie the problem.

So... what is the best workflow you'd recommend to update the solution along with all of the datasets already in place?

Walt

Trying to use my existing feature layer from the Water Distribution Management solution for the implementation of the Water Utility Hydrant Inspection solution. I attempted to swap my source using the same WaterDistributionSystem Hosted Feature Layer found in each solution package but get the following error: Cannot swap source. Visible fields on the view layer are missing on the selected layer.

I do not understand this error. all of the fields within both layers match.

Is there an easier way to utilize the layers from another dataset within AGOL?

Hi Walter,

What version of the Water Distribution Data Management solution do you have? You can see the version as a property shown at the bottom of the page on the settings tab of the solution item.

There were some minor changes to the fields at version 2 so if you're using anything earlier you'll need to either migrate data to the updated solution or make the same changes to your service so the swap source option will work.

Thanks,
Joel

We have a Data Loading toolbox that is very useful and would be my recommendation for loading into the new feature service.

Also, deploying the Water Distribution Data Management solution again will deliver the updated maps and apps that use the new feature service.

Joel-

I have another question about the update process. So I loaded the new solution and i do not have all of the feature services. i seem to be missing the WaterDistributionSystem host layer along with the Water Distribution Data Manager Project Package at the least. I can not seem to complete anything without these services by following the configuration steps for loading data.

I guess the solution doesn't load the host layer with the rest of the services within the folder, but stores it in the All my content folder.
