Runtime and Extension Capability Matrix and Deployment Questions

I just spoke with my customer rep about pricing for the Runtime (and available extensions) of which I plan to make a purchase of soon. I am trying to balance cost vs 'future proofing' my purchase as best as possible. That leads me to a few questions:

1) Is there a capability matrix of what functionality (or geoprocesses) is exposed at the basic runtime vs extension level? The following link mentions some general items, but nothing too specific:

2) Will there be some basic 3d capability (such as viewing) in the basic runtime when 3D functionality comes out, or will it be similiar to ArcEngine model where if you want ANY 3D at all, you need the 3D extension?

3) If I were to purchase a deployment pack of 25 (of runtime or an extension), will I be able to deploy ANY version in the future of that item until my count runs out? For example, the 1.0 release just came out. Say I purchased 25 (or more) deployable licenses of the 3D extension. Then sometime down the road (possible even 1-2 years), version 2.X or version 3.x comes out. If I still have not deployed all 25 of the 3D extensions, will I still be able to deploy the later versions counting against my original 25 count? To me, this is more of an issue with the extensions due to the pricing as well as it not being needed in all cases of deployment.

2) I was told by several sources at the 2012 ESRI UC that it is planned that even the Basic runtime will eventually have some 3D viewing capabilities. The GP analysis tools are what will require the Standard runtime and the 3D extension (see matrix link above)

3) Again, at the UC, was told that your embedded license should work on future versions of the runtime. You probably will need to maintain your maintenance, though, for the development license
