Using raster as geoprocessing parameter

I develope wpf application that uses contours geoprocessing that is published on my gis server.

I also have on the server some DTM rasters that i want to use as a parameter to the contours geoprocessing.

i have 2 questions:

1) How can i pass the raster to the contours geoprocessing. i try to pass the url of the DTM raster service but not success.

there is a way to get the raster from his rest url and pass it to the geoproccessing? which type the parameter in the geoprocessing need to be?

2) I need to user the "view result with a map service" option because of performance causes. how can i store the result on the server, because now it's deleted after 6 hours(the clean up configuration).
