      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;You can start by reading the "Perform Analysis" section of the Guide and looking at &lt;A href="https://developers.arcgis.com/java/guide/geoprocessing.htm"&gt;Geoprocessing &lt;/A&gt;and &lt;A href="https://developers.arcgis.com/java/guide/run-a-geoprocessing-task.htm"&gt;Run a Geoprocessing Task.&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Depending on the type of arcpy functions you need to use, you can run the arcpy script in ArcMap, &lt;A href="https://developers.arcgis.com/java/guide/author-and-publish-a-geoprocessing-model.htm"&gt;export the results to a geoprocessing package&lt;/A&gt;, and open and use it in a Runtime application.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Some gp tools and models are not&lt;A href="https://developers.arcgis.com/java/guide/local-server-geoprocessing-tools-support.htm"&gt; supported in Runtime&lt;/A&gt;, so be aware.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I hope this helps&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
