Licensing Mode of Android Runtime

Want to know more about licensing mode. If I am purchasing Android Runtime, do i want a developer subscription to get started?

I want to develop an application like "field map" but on my brand name. What are the pre-requisite. Can I develop using Android Studio itself?

Hi,

An ArcGIS Developer subscription is the best way to get started because as a developer, for free it gives you access to all the capabilities of the SDK - only when you are going to deploy the application to users do you need to purchase licenses. And there are flexible approaches to licensing your apps (see doc links below).

I recommend:

Sign up for an ArcGIS Developer subscription.
Choose the new ArcGIS Maps SDK for Kotlin (rather than the previous generation ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android).
Read the docs covering offline/field workflows.
Read the docs covering licensing and deployment.
Try the samples demonstrating offline map workflows.
