locator candidates with z-values

I have a composite locator containing Address Point, Street Address, and Parcel locators. The parcel feature class is z-aware, while address points and streets are not. According to this documentation https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/enterprise/find-address-candidates/ , "Locators created with the Create Locator tool based on the Point Address, Parcel, or POI role or created with the Create Feature Locator tool using z-aware point features in ArcGIS Pro 3.2 or later will return candidates with z-coordinates."

My composite locator is also returning z-values for address point candidates (which, again, is not built from a z-aware feature class), and they are all -10000:

Is there some way I can disable the z-value from being output, especially in this scenario where the feature classes are not even z-enabled? The address locator on its own does not output a Z value, it is only happening in the composite locator.
