idea Sideload Data from QuickCapture to PC in usable format in ArcGIS QuickCapture Ideas

Real-world Problem: In Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) we rely on the internet to move information from a local command post / base of operations to a centralized location (ArcGIS Online). When internet is limited or if there is an ArcGIS Online outage, we would like to still be able to view our locally stored data on a map.

Technical Problem: Currently, we can only transmit our data to ArcGIS Online (AGOL). If we cannot reach AGOL our only options are to view data on each individual device. Task Forces would like the ability to "side load" their data into ArcGIS Pro or other mapping app that can work without internet or AGOL connection. There is no ability to do this now, so in austere environments they may resort to using handheld GPS units which will require significant effort to pull into our common operating platform and require using Garmin Basecamp, Google Earth, etc.

Proposed Solution: Create a way to pull the QuickCapture data off of the device and onto a PC hard-drive where it can be displayed on ArcGIS Pro or other mapping solutions. "This might require changing the format of the data recovery file to something that ArcGIS Pro can understand better, such as a GeoPackage (which supports attachments). Then, enable in the app a workflow to ‘email’ or ‘save to files’ the data in the device. This would facilitate device-to-ArcGIS-Pro workflows."

We cannot afford to carry around a local ArcGIS Enterprise for each task force (time, money, hardware, maintenance) but at least being able to display data from a few devices while we wait for connectivity to AGOL would provide us with situational awareness and a local common operating picture.

Short-term Solution - it seems feasible that someone could write a script for pulling data off of devices in the SQLite format and add to a file geodatabase? Has anyone already done this?

@Ismael

Wow, this would be an amazing enhancement that would really take the First Responder community to a new level with GIS! It would be a very beneficial enhancement.

Thanks for posting this.

It's a problem we have also faced and this would be a much appreciated improvement to our work in humanitarian emergency response.
