topic Manage Tile Cache - output cache appearance in ArcGIS Pro Questions

I have a question about the appearance of tile cache created by Manage Tile Cache compared to the appearance of the input layer.

My input is a 4-band GeoTiff, RGB with Alpha. Statistics have been calculated. I’m using ArcGIS Pro 3.5.3.

The two images below show the same GeoTIFF in ArcGIS Pro; the one on the left has no stretch, and the one on the right has a percent clip.

For each layer, I ran Manage Tile Cache. The same tiling scheme was used for both, with Mixed output to allow transparency at the edge of the image. Compression quality is 90.

The resulting cache is remarkably different, and neither is the same as the input.

The cache created for the left layer (based on a layer with no stretch) came out much darker, and the cache created for the right layer (based on a layer with a percent clip) came out much brighter.

Both images below are cache rendered in Pro, but they look the same in AGOL when the TPKX is published. And for both, the stretch is none, and one can't be applied in AGOL.

Why does the cache appear different from the input layer?

How can we ensure that the output cache looks the way we want it to?
