Unfortunately neither of these recommendations fixed anything for me.

I confirmed that all of the line segments are pointing in the right direction with arrow symbology in a marker field applied to the lines.

Then i also tried out the point dataset method, although this gave similar results unfortunately.

I am creating a movie (animation) of seven unique lines that all have labels for titles that I am attempting to follow the lead head of the track. I have set the placement to "centred horizontal" and offset along line to "after end of line." However, as i manipulate the time plot the label will jump around and sometimes just constrain itself to the beginning of the line, then jump back to the end of the line at random intervals.

I have attempted to muck around with every possible combination through all the labelling settings, although it seems if i temporarily fix one track then the others won't follow suit.

Also mucked around with some of the line properties, but no luck.

I am using ArcGIS Pro Version 3.5.2

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Hi @isaacosmond
Sounds like an interesting project.

Are all the line segments for each time period 'pointing' in the right direction? It is easy to see when you apply a symbology with a different symbol at the start & end of a line.

Locking down labels in a dynamic layout/map can be complicated and sometimes near impossible.

One option could be to create a point dataset (end of line segment?) with the same time attributes. Label it instead of the line and make the point itself invisible?

My feature weight is set to 0 for all lines within the file, and there are currently no other layers active in the project.

Are the lines comprised of individual segments with their own time stamps such as with animal tracking? And is the label the same for every line segment? If so, ensure Line connection is checked on so Maplex treats all the individual line segments as one contiguous line.
