Cannot export model to graphic (pdf or svg) in ArcGIS Pro 3.2 ModelBuilder.

I edit the model from the toolbox. In the ModelBuilder tab, I select Export > Export to graphic which opens the Export Image dialog. I navigate to the folder I want to place the file in and choose one of the formats, either SVG or PDF.

If I choose the pdf option, the pdf document is created but when I open it, there is an error message stating "There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be opened because it has no pages."

If I choose the svg option, the tool closes and a file is not created. (Yesterday, the pdf error occurred and I tried the svg format and it worked fine. Then today, the pdf and the svg do not work.)

I have a similair problem. In my case, I'm able to create a pdf which works, but I experience the same problem when exporting to .svg; the export image dialog closes but no file is created.

Was a solution to this problem ever found. I am having the exact same problem exporting my model to SVG and PDF. I have to be able to export to SVG for project submittal purposes.

Exact same issue is still alive and well in 3.4.3. No problem saving to SVG a few days ago, now it acts like it did it, but no file is created (and empty/corrupt PDF). No error from ArcGIS.

I've tried 4 different computers (Windows 10, 11, Server 2019). Save As a new model to the same or a different or a new project has the same behavior. It is model specific because other models in the same project export to SVG normally.

I can export to Python and going through the code it looks fine.

At the moment I did not have time to go through and create an identical model checking after each tool was added.

My workaround was to crank my display up to its full 5120x2880 resolution and take screenshots. Even at that resolution I had to zoom and take several "close-ups" of the model and then mosaic them in Photoshop, then export to PDF.

I had what I'd call a high-res image of the model, but when I attempted to vectorize it in Illustrator, the model structure was clear, but the Image Trace tool clearly was not designed to be tracing fonts.

I'm on ArcGIS 3.5.2, the date is currently the 23rd of August, 2025 and I am having the same issue.

I am trying to export my model into graphic through modelbuilder but it does not give me a .svg file. the .pdf file exports but it says "Format error: Not a PDF or corrupted".

I need to insert it into my UNI report... I ended up just taking screenshots but would have prefer a higher resolution document.

I noticed that sometimes this issue can be resolved by re-linking some model components... it happens when ArcGIS does not acknowledge the model's validity, even when it has been "verified." Compared with finding that small error, I likely would rather take a screenshot. 🤔
