Georeferencing changes are only saved after closing and reopening project

Hi,

I georeferenced multiple images lately and I've encountered a bug-like behaviour every time.

When I add control points it adjusts the map accordingly, but as soon as I save and then close the georeferencing tool, the adjustments from the control points are undone. When I open the tool again, the image is correctly georeferenced again.

When I close and reopen the project, the image is correctly georeferenced and stays like that, which is my (slightly annoying) workaround so far.

Anyone else experiencing this behaviour?

I saw that post, but my control points are not actually lost, it just seems that they are only "applied" as long as the georeference tool is open or after I close and reopen my project.

A slightly quicker workaround I just found out is to set the source of the layer again to the image file. This also applies the changes from georeferencing.

I'm seeing the same behaviour, although I'm running v2.9.5
