Hi! Hopefully someone can help me out.

I was working in another project and when I clicked save, it popped up with save as...and I clicked on the project and went on about my business. Turns out, when it popped up, it was in a completely different folder and I overwrote another project.

Is there any way I can get my maps and layouts back? I know the data is okay, it is in a geodatabase. But it was a lengthy project, with a lot of maps and layouts.

Any suggestions? (Other than double check where it is saving...which is really stupid that it did default to the folder I was in, but crying will not restore my project.)

Thanks!

Depending on where the "save" location is, you may be able to see if a backup of the folder location is available. If on your organizations network drives, this may be possible.

You could then "restore" from a backup.

If you are fortunate enough to have File History enabled on the computer the file is saved on you can right click on the folder in windows, get Properties, and see if there is a Previous Versions Tab:

If so, you can go back to any of the date/times listed and get a snapshot of the project at that time/date.

R_
