I wonder if the dates can be preserved, by any chance.

Hi,

Project (Data Management) tool overwrites the editor tracking data in the date fields at the destination. It overwrites the data in the Created Date Field and Edit Date Field to the time of tool execution.

Any suggestions please

ArcGIS Pro 3.2/3.3/3.4

Thanks

Enable editor tracking—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

Project ... is producing a new featureclass. Are you expecting the new file to contain the information from the old one? (it is enabled in the project backstage, I presume)
