Hi All,

I am not sure if this is possible. However, I thought I would ask this to make sure I am not missing anything.

We have two polygon shapefiles, and these two shapefiles have been symbolized with Unique Value Symbology using different fields (i.e., Field1 for Shapefile 1 & Field2 for Shapefile 2), and layer files have been saved after applying the symbology, so we now have 2 layer files (.lyrx)

We are now merging the two shapefiles into a singular dataset using the merge tool. We now want to know if it's possible to merge the layer files so that symbology can also be merged.

We researched further on this and found this article: https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-display-the-symbologies-of-multiple-layers-in-ar-000022824 however, this works for single symbology

Also, after going through this link it looks like this is not possible https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-questions/need-symbology-from-multiple-layers-for-the-merge/td-p/294986

Any inputs on this would be helpful.

Try saving the symbols to a style. You'd still have to manually apply them to the symbol classes you want, but I'd start there and then re-export a LYRX for others' use.

@AlfredBaldenweck Thank you for the suggestion. After saving the symbols to a style file and then using the Match Layer Symbology to style tool worked for us.
