arcgis pro shutting down

I reinstalled arcgis pro and it is up to data. My computer has more than enough power all around (storage, gpu, ram, processor) and has been working flawlessly for the last year. Now ArcGIS Pro shuts down even when turning on a moderate sized polygon layer. When I go into the event viewer, the error says "invalid window handle." Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Jason

Hey @JasonSibold

The error your getting seems to be temporary, here is what I'd do myself if hitting this error:

1. Restart the computer

2. Update Windows/Windows Defender

3. Attempt to close any third-party antivirus

4. Reinstall ArcGIS Pro / downgrade ArcGIS Pro 1 version.

5. Run sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt

Those are my suggestions for this specific issue, usually when I hear Windows issues though I suspect RAM, but doesn't seem the issue here.

Cody

Thanks Cody. I am working through your suggestions and can't find a downgraded version of Pro. Any ideas where I can download that? Thanks again, Jason

They can go to Downloads > All versions > ArcGIS Pro and the downloads will be there.

Along with that, Dan Patterson has good suggestions as well, as cleanly reinstalling and diagnosing if it's a single component of the ArcPro Project.

Cody
