Hello,

I had a file geodatabase and mistakenly deleted a feature because I thought it was duplicated. Later, I realized it wasn't. To fix the issue, I tried using the 'Recover File Geodatabase' tool, but things got much worse. Instead of recovering the deleted feature, all my features—hundreds of them—disappeared. Now, I have a much bigger problem: not only is the original feature gone, but all the others are missing as well. I suspect this happened because I accidentally used the same name for the database during the recovery process.

Please, is there any way to restore it to one hour before, something in temporary files, I don't know, I just need my database back.

How about asking your network people if they can restore from backups the version of the file geodatabase from the night before?

If your file geodatabase in on your C: drive and you're not backing up files, then likely it's gone. If, on the other hand, the file geodatabase is on a fileshare on your network, then there's a chance it's backed up somewhere. Best to talk to IT.

Depending on your PC setup and where the fGDB is stored you can consider the following. This example assumes the fGDB of interest is on your hard disk. I am working on my home PC with full admin rights.

Warning: I haven’t tested this but it seems to be straightforward.

First --> backup anything you can’t afford to lose (overwrite).

Set focus to the fGDB folder in File Explorer. fGDBs appear as folders in File Explorer.

Click Properties in the Open group on the ribbon.

Click the Previous Version tab.

Click Restore. You will have a final chance to Cancel or Restore.

This should restore the version to the date indicated.

Sadly, I think the file geodatabase is lost based upon your screen grab.
