topic ERROR 000539 in ArcGIS Pro Questions

Dear GIS Experts, I am using ArcGIS Pro to calculate the 'stream length gradient index' and 'knickpoints' in one of the catchments of my study area. I am using the workflow of the SLiX_v1 modeler used in Piacentini et al.,2020. In the process, at the 'calculate Field' section, i got the message as seen in the attached screenshot.

This table has all the necessary fields. The expression type is Python, the field name is Zmax(max with 'm' and not 'M'), and the field type is float.

I used this workflow in arcMap 2 years ago and it was successful. Now in arcGIS Pro, it is not. Could it be because of the software or what did i do to get this error, and how would i do to solve it?

Thank you for your time and kind response!

I think you might get more help if you shared a screenshot of your Calculate Field window and the script you're running. Most here likely won't have the time/inclination to go locate a random unnamed paper to figure out where you are in this.

I suspect that either some part of the script is not pointing where you think it's pointing, or you have a case of field name/alias confusion, but I can't say either for sure without more information.

Hi @NapoleonNjeng.

As @MErikReedAugusta mentioned it would be great if you could let us know what is the expression that you are using. What is the input dataset. Perhaps share a screenshot or two for us to understand this in a better way.
