Custom Layout Grid now allowing Edge Selection

Hello All, I am attempting to create a custom layout grid based off a feature within an SDE.

I am attempting to label the Edges of 1 & 3 separate from the Edges of 2 & 4. However, every attempt I make to use the Edges : Selected will not hold and will revert to Edges: All.

Any ideas on how to correct this? I thought this was fixed from 3.1 onwards?

I am using ArcPro 3.3

I am having the same issue. I set the Township labels to be on side selected sides 2 & 4, then set the Field Source expression. I repeat for Range labels to be on side selected sides 1 & 3. The labeling defaults to all sides. I can rearrange components to change which shows but again it is either all Town labels or Range labels.

I am using ArcPro 3.4
