How to disable Maintain Attachments while creating and sharing Mobile Map Packages

In order to save space, I'd like to create and share a mobile map package without passing attachments. I have unchecked "Maintain Attachments" within the Environment settings. For the few layers I have configured pop-ups, I have also removed attachments from the configuration. The Create Mobile Map Package tool doesn't seem to have any parameter or environment associated with attachments either.

My current workaround is to use feature class to feature class with maintain attachments set to False, and create and share the mobile map package using the newly written layers.

Am I overlooking something, or is this not currently supported?

The environment setting "maintain attachments" is not respected for this tool. I would appreciate it if this option was available when sharing a Map Package or Mobile Map Package.
