View extent not being honoured in layout when exporting as a PNG/JPEG

Hi all

I have a process for creating maps, then selecting a project in a map series which updates my layout, this then is exported from the layout as a png/jpeg.

During this process we have pre-set extents which must be used and when a project and a layout is selected the first action is changing the extent from what ArcPro selects to one of the pre-made extents before exporting.

But when the png/jpeg is exported it doesn't use the extent chosen by the user but instead always defaults back to the extent selected by ArcPro when originally choosing the layout. am I missing something or is this something that any has experienced before ?

Solution was found by using "Centre and maintain scale" in the map series layout properties which then honours those custom scales
