Is it possible for multiple users to access a branch version in ArcGIS Pro?

I am finding that when one user (editor) is connected to the version, no other users (read-only) can access the version. When a user tries to connect they get a lock error.

Once an editor begins editing in a named version, an exclusive lock is obtained and no other users can connect to that version."
