I added them as data and then turned them into a point layer (I geocoded them last year). I then upload the shape file that has the census tract information. When I go to use the "spatial join" tool, it assigns every participant the same GEOID. I presume that it is taking the first participant's GEOID and applying it to everybody in the dataset.
