topic How to set Map Package as read only? in ArcGIS Pro Questions

My organization uses ArcReader and find it very useful. ArcGIS Online is great and all, but there are limitations. I've been trying to play with sharing a Pro map as a map package to a few computers with a basic license as a potential solution, but how do I set the map/data as read only? I don't want end users changing a thing.

Sorry if this is an obvious question, I just can't seem to find an answer!

Also, side note - a map package still requires users to have a creator license. Is there a realistic read-only replacement to ArcReader? I have several maps that link to folders on network drives that I can't move to ArcGIS online.

So I've looked into the question of an ArcReader alternative and there appears to be a Windows/iOS/Android app called ArcGIS Explorer. There is a product page located here with Home, Help and an FAQ. In ArcGIS Pro, you create a Mobile Map Package and then use it in ArcGIS Explorer. By its design, a user cannot edit the data in ArcGIS Explorer.
