topic Editor tracking not preserved when using Paste Special in ArcGIS Pro Questions

I have a feature that exists in a file GDB with editor tracking enabled. I want to preserve that tracking when copying the feature into an enterprise (SQL Server) GDB feature class with identical schema. I temporarily turned off editor tracking on the target feature class specifically to retain the pasted feature's tracking data. The feature copies fine, except the tracking fields remain null.

I saw this thread: Solved: Issue Copying from Editor Tracking Fields - Esri Community which was supposedly solved with Pro 3.1.1 (I'm using 3.2.2), but I am not using Data Loading Workspace. Nor do I want to for a simple copy-paste procedure of a single feature.

This might be the first time in several years I've tried to do this; maybe I was still using ArcMap rather than Pro. Turning off editor tracking is a kludgy workaround, but at least it used to work. What has changed? Is there a better way of doing this? Thanks!
